A new church?
- The Garioch is a strategic location for local outreach among young families moving into the area
- Outreach into the many, large, new, housing estates, without a church presence, has to be an urgent priority
- Despite recent and projected population increases and changes, only one of the Inverurie churches is a new development (New Community Church)
- There is no Baptist Union of Scotland church along the A96 corridor between Bridge of Don and Elgin (65 miles)
- Many north Garioch residents regard Inverurie as their main location for shopping, other amenities, and/or employment
- but they attend non-local churches in Aberdeen or Bridge of Don
- this includes members of BoDBC who live in each of the key towns along the A96 corridor
- A ‘fresh expression of church’ will not duplicate what is already available and may attract families who are seeking a change of lifestyle
- A new church in the Garioch could develop shared, local outreach projects with existing churches in the area
