Insch Community Group

The Insch community group is made up of people who live in and around Insch. We are made up of a range of different ages and life experience. We celebrate these differences as we seek to learn new ways of living and growing together within our communities. We value each member of our community from the bairns to the oldies. We believe we are on an individual journey with God but also a collective one. We believe each of us have been placed here by God and are seeking together to discover what he wants to do in us and in Insch.

Part of our rhythm is quiet, adult time at our midweek @home. We cycle through a rhythm at these midweeks of ‘going deeper’ – studying the Bible in depth to learn about how God wants us to live, contemplative times where we listen to music, pray, quietly reflect on Scripture to name a few and lastly a community focused week where we pray for our community and intentionally look for ways that we can join/be part of what God is doing here. It is important to us that in these times we develop deeper relationships with each other so we can challenge and be challenged in our daily walk with God. We intentionally set aside regular time as men and women to socialise together.

Every second Sunday we meet together with the other @home groups from across the Garioch area at our @central meeting in Inverurie. Every other Sunday in the month we meet in people’s homes in Insch. We try hard to eat together – sometimes challenging with the number of little people!! In these times we explore as families what God might be doing in our community, learn as families through Bible stories, and generally deepen our relationships. It is vital as part of our @home group that the children are an integral part of these Sunday’s @home. They are made to feel very much part of the day and encouraged to share about how God is working in their lives too. We learn from one another.

We are loving serving God in this community and feel privileged to be part of His work here. We have welcomed lots of people from the community into the group at different points over the last 6 months and we are enjoying journeying with them.
