People

Human beings are made both in the image of God and to love God. God’s intention is that people will live together as caring companions who support each other.

But, we have a tendency towards individualism, consumerism and self interest, and, too often we fail to love and obey God. God’s image in us is damaged.

God has created us for community, and, in Jesus Christ we learn to relate positively to God, to each other and to the world.

We are a community of seekers: after truth, after justice, and after restoration. None of these can be known except through relationships.

Questions that shape us …

  • How can we be real with one another and embrace the joy and pain of life together?
  • To what extent is our family about more than those who we live with?
  • Do we share our resources with one another and those in need?
  • Can we learn more from each other, and others, about how to act justly, love mercy and walk humbly with God?
  • Are we sharing our faith and seeking to be hospitable communities where strangers feel welcome?
